The Thackeray Garn Company (“TGC”) is a diversified commercial real estate company focused on ground-up development and value-added acquisitions. TGC owns and manages approximately 2.5 million square feet of retail, industrial and office space, thirteen hotels and eight multi-family communities. Once limited to the Utah market, TGC development activities have been expanded to Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Hawaii.

The Team
John Thackeray
With 35 years of commercial development experience John has working within all facets of acquisition, development and management. John has developed retail shopping centers, mixed-use projects, restaurants, apartments, office and single-family subdivisions. Prior to founding his first real estate development and management company John practiced law with an emphasis in real estate development, consulting, leasing and zoning. |
Kevin Garn
Kevin has over 35 years of commercial development experience specializing in the development of hotels, mixed-use projects, retail, office, apartment, restaurants and industrial properties. Kevin the Principal owner of KSG Properties. Kevin is the principal owner of a number of other businesses and is Chairman of the Board of First National Bank of Layton. He is a former Utah House of Representative having served for over 12 years. Kevin will be responsible for general oversight, financial control, lender and financial relationships. |
Michael Christensen
Michael has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to the formation of The Thackeray Garn Company, he worked at New Plan Excel Realty Trust, Inc., a publicly traded REIT for seven years with a focus in retail development, joint ventures and acquisitions. Previous to his time with New Plan, he worked at Price Waterhouse in the audit and transaction support groups, working primarily with public and private real estate companies. |
